<p>Fluorine-containing substituted acetophenones are obtained by reaction of corresponding isopropyl-, propenyl-, 2-hydroxy-2-propyl-, 2-hydroperoxy-2-propyl-, 1-methyloxiranyl- or O,O-bis-(2-oxydi-isopropyl)-benzene derivatives with an N-hydroxyphthalimide in presence of an oxidising agent. A method for the production of compounds of formula (I) involves the reaction of compounds of formula (IIa) or (IIb) in presence of 0.1-30 mol% of a N-hydroxyphthalimide and in presence of an oxidising agent.
