<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an exhaust gas purifying filter capable of shortening a baking time to enhance productivity and capable of manufacturing the exhaust gas purifying filter reduced in the coefficient of thermal expansion. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the exhaust gas purifying filter, which is constituted by providing plug parts to a honeycomb structure comprising cordierite and provided with a large number of cells formed by porous partition walls in a honeycomb state, has an extrusion molding process, a drying process, a temporary baking process, a plug filling process and a main baking process. In a case that the time required in the temperature rise up to the maximum temperature T<SB>1</SB>from 1,200°C in the temporary baking process is set to a temperature rise time A, the time held at the maximum temperature T<SB>1</SB>is set to a holding time B, the time required in the temperature rise up to the maximum temperature T<SB>2</SB>from 1,200°C in the main baking process is set to a temperature rise time C, the time held at the maximum temperature T<SB>2</SB>is set to a holding time D and the sum total of A-D is set to a sum total time S, the relation of (A+B)<(C+D) is satisfied, the sum total time S is 25-45 h and the holding time D is 11 h or above. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
