The converter has a supply transistor (ST) for periodic power supply, and an output capacitor (C) with a memory circuit connected in series with an inductor (L). A measuring transistor (MT) e.g. self-conducting FET, has a control circuit to control the supply transistor based on amount of the output voltage. The inductor is loaded in a conducting phase of the supply transistor, and is unloaded in a disabled phase of the supply transistor over a free wheeling diode (D) and a resistor (R1) forming a voltage divider that delivers gate voltage of the measuring transistor.
