PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water pump capable of preventing a roller bearing from rusting by efficiently discharging a refrigerant that has leaked through a mechanical seal. SOLUTION: A water pump includes a fixed member 20 having a fixed flange 21 and a fixed cylindrical portion 22, an impeller 60, a rotating cylindrical shaft 51, a rotating member 50 having a rotating flange 52 and a pulley 53, a rolling bearing 31 disposed between the fixed cylindrical portion 22 and the pulley 53, and a mechanical seal 40 disposed between the fixed cylindrical portion 22 and the rotating cylindrical shaft 51. On the rotating flange 52, a service hole 54 is formed for press fitting an inner race 32 of the rolling bearing 31 into fixed cylindrical portion 22. On the at least one end of the fixed cylindrical portion 22 and the inner race 32, an extension portion 26 is provided that has been extended up to a position that is the same as a general surface of inner surface of the rotating flange 52 or exceeds the general surface. Where the service hole 54 of the rotating flange 52 is present, an annular avoiding portion 55 is formed for avoiding it so as not to interfere with the extension portion 26.
