PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp and an illumination fixture capable of increasing lamp output while securing lamp life nearly the same as before. SOLUTION: In the fluorescent lamp La1 composed by forming a phosphor layer on the inner face of a glass bulb 6, sealing a discharge gas into this glass bulb 6, and mounting a filament 2 made of at least one coil to which an emitter 3, being an electron radioactive material, is coated and adhered in the glass bulb 6, the wire diameter of at least one coil constituting the filament 2 is about 65 to 100μm, and the amount of the emitter 3 coated on and adhered to the filament 2 is about 5 to 11 mg.
