<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation transmission device constructed to be highly reliable, resistant to bending moment, and compact lengthwise in the axial direction. <P>SOLUTION: A two-way clutch 10 is incorporated between a cam ring 1 and an outer ring 3, and an electromagnetic clutch 20 is attached to the two-way clutch 10 for controlling the engagement/disengagement of the two-way clutch 10. The electromagnetic clutch 20 consists of an armature 21 prevented from rotating by a cage 14 of the two-way clutch 10 and movable in the axial direction, a rotor guide 22 fitted to the outer periphery of the opening end of the outer ring 3, a rotor 23 pressed into the other end of the rotor guide 22 and opposed to the armature 21 in the axial direction, and an electromagnet 24 opposed to the rotor 23 in the axial direction. The rotor guide 22 is pressed into the outer periphery of the opening end of the outer ring 3, and the rotor guide 22 and the outer ring 3 are prevented from rotating by fitting a protruded portion 30 provided at the opening end of the outer ring 3 to a recessed portion 29 formed in the rotor guide 22.
