The invention relates to a method for determination of fringing intensity of a laser beam (3), wherein an aperture mirror (4) with a round aperture opening arranged coaxial to the laser beam (3) is displaced in the beam direction (z) of the laser beam (3) and the intensity of the laser light (6) reflected from the aperture mirror (3) is measured directly or indirectly. The corresponding device (1) comprises a measuring unit (5) in addition to the aperture mirror (4) which may be displaced in the beam direction for the direct or indirect determination of the intensity of the laser light (6) reflected on the aperture mirror (4).
