A method for predicting slag foaming is provided to prevent the occurrence of facility accidents due to slag foaming by predicting the extent of slag foaming generated during operation of a vacuum tank degasser, and reduce degassing time of molten steel by controlling the flow rate of bottom blowing gas supplied into a ladle, thereby controlling slag foaming, and a process for degassing molten steel using the same is provided. A process for degassing molten steel comprises: a preparation step(S100) of positioning a molten steel-containing ladle in a vacuum tank to prepare a degassing operation of molten steel; a naked molten metal-forming step(S200) of performing bottom blowing of the ladle before a vacuum pump of the vacuum tank is operated, and controlling the flow rate of bottom blowing gas to form naked molten metal in slag formed in an upper part of the ladle and control the size of the naked molten metal; a degassing step(S300) of operating the vacuum pump of the vacuum tank to remove gas existing in molten steel, the degassing step comprising a measurement value calculating step(S310) of periodically collecting pressure values within the vacuum tank and oxygen concentration values of exhaust gas, a predicting step(S320)of predicting the possibility of slag foaming using the collected pressure values and oxygen concentration values, and a naked molten metal-adjusting step(S330) of controlling the flow rate of bottom blowing gas of the ladle according to the prediction for the possibility of slag foaming, and adjusting the size of naked molten metal formed on an upper part of molten steel to suppress slag foaming; and a completing step(S400) continuously operating the vacuum pump such that an inner part of the vacuum tank reaches a maximum degree of vacuum to complete removal of gas existing in molten steel. |
