The present invention provides a polymer composition containing a flame r etardant. In particular, the invention provides a polymer composition contai ning poly(trimethylene terephthalate) and a flame retardant having a flame r etardant component that melts at a temperature of equal to or below 280°C. T he present invention also provides a process for producing such a compositio n, and materials incorporating such polymer compositions.
