PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speaker unit which precisely represents sounds in a wide range from the lower register to the upper register using an electrostatic type speaker, and to provide sound facilities that use the same. SOLUTION: The speaker body 20, having an electrode plate 21 and an electrode plate 22, and a diaphragm 24, is driven by an actuator 40 reciprocatively in a plate thickness direction. The speaker main body 20 is the electrostatic type speaker, so sounds in the middle register and upper register are precisely represented. When a sound in the lower register is generated, however the actuator 40 makes the speaker body 20 itself vibrate as a diaphragm. The speaker body 20 is vibrated and then the area and stroke increase, so that the sound in the lower register is dynamically represented. Consequently, the sounds over a wide range, from the lower register to the upper register, can precisely be represented by using the electrostatic type speaker body 20.
