PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective display device capable of displaying a plurality of colors and having high contrast and high definition, and to provide an electronic equipment having the display device, and a display method for displaying a plurality of colors with excellent display performance. SOLUTION: The display device 20 comprises: a first substrate 1 as a display portion; a second substrate 2 disposed opposing to the first substrate 1; a pixel space 71 that is disposed between the substrates 1, 2 and seals an electrophoretic dispersion liquid 10 containing a plurality of types of electrophoretic particles 5 having different colors and electrophoretic mobilities from one another and containing a liquid phase dispersion medium 6 dispersing the electrophoretic particles; a pair of separation electrodes 4 that separate the electrophoretic particles 5 type-by-type by applying an electric field to each electrophoretic particle 5 and using the difference in the electrophoretic mobility among the electrophoretic particles 5; and a pair of conveyance electrodes 3 that select specified electrophoretic particles from among the separated electrophoretic particles and conveys the selected electrophoretic particles to the display portion side of the pixel space 71 by effecting an electric field.
