This invention provides a light emitting device having high adhesion between a sealing member and a packaging member. The light emitting device (100) comprises a package (20) with a concave part having a bottom face (20a) and a side wall (20b), a luminescent element (10) mounted on a concave part (60) in its bottom face (20a) in the package (20), and a sealing member (40) disposed within the concave part (60) in the package (20) and covering the light emitting element (10). The package (20) comprises, in the whole monomer component, 5% by weight to 70% by weight of potassium titanate fiber and/or wollastonite, 10% by weight to 50% by weight of titanium oxide, 15% by weight to 85% by weight of a semi-aromatic polyamide having an aromatic monomer content of not less than 20% by mole, and the thickness of a side wall (20b) in the concave part (60) in the package (20) is not more than 100 mum. The sealing member (40) is silicone. |
