<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly set, on a recording medium, a guide member pressing an end of the recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: Whether an end guide 54 is in contact with rear ends of paper sheets P is detected, and when the end guide 54 is not in contact with the rear ends of the paper sheets P, it is reported to an operator.
