<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical assembly capable of increasing adhesive strength between an optical device and a sleeve, and efficiently and easily performing aligning work of optical axes. <P>SOLUTION: The optical assembly 11 is composed of an optical device 13 on which an optical semiconductor element is loaded and a sleeve 12 which joins with the optical device 13 and which holds an optical fiber optically coupling with the optical semiconductor element.
