PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel capable of surely preventing generation of vibration and noise of a magnetic braking device, at high-speed rotation of spool. SOLUTION: This fishing reel 10 is equipped with the magnetic braking device 34 enabling increase and decrease of magnetic braking force acting on the spool, by making an electrical conductive body 48 to advance and retreat, supported movably in the axial direction with respect to a spool shaft 22 and as rotation-stopped at one side of the spool 18 supported freely rotatably at the reel body 12, within the magnetic fields of magnets 36, 38 installed at the reel body 12 via the engaging action of a moving member 58 which moves in the radial direction by the rotation of the spool 18 and a tapered form guidance part 60, that expands its diameter toward the outer direction in the axial direction on the inner side of the radial direction of the spool 18. The fishing reel has a slide-contact surface 59 formed, at the end part where the moving member 58 engages with the tapered guidance part 60, and also has a slide-contacting guiding surface 62 formed, having a form corresponding to the slide-contact surface 59 along the axial direction of the tapered guidance part 60.
