<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate a flow size distribution while drastically reducing computational complexity when estimating the original flow size distribution from sampled flow size data. <P>SOLUTION: The flow statistics estimation apparatus 10 acquires flow data (sample flow data 13, 14) measured by measuring instruments 11, 12 such as router switches on a network by applying packet sampling thereto, at arbitrarily specifiable intervals. The flow statistics estimation apparatus 10 then statistically estimates the distribution of flow sizes, prior to sampling, using a distribution model 16 that is characterized in its long foot and has one or more parameters, on the basis of a value 15 of a sampling rate being set to the flow measuring instruments 11, 12 and the sample flow data 13, 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
