PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an air column tube resonance noise from increasing while increasing the wet performance of a pneumatic tire having a projection to sacrifice for biased abrasion in a main groove extending in the circumferential direction of the tire. SOLUTION: A ridge 30 projecting from a groove bottom, having the projecting end positioned on the tire radial inner side of the treads 21T, 22T of adjacent land parts 21, 22, and functioning as the projection to sacrifice for biased abrasion is formed in the main groove 11 formed in the tread part of the pneumatic tire. Projections 35 are formed on the ridge 30 at predetermined intervals, and the other portion of the ridge 30 is formed in a non-contact part 32 by so forming it as not brought into contact with a road surface while bringing a projection part 31 on which the projection 35 is formed into slidable contact with the road surface when the tire rolls under load. A hollow in the main groove 11 is increased by the non-contact part 32 of the ridge 30 to increase drainage performance.
