A fuel cell system is provided to allow easy control of the initial driving an electric appliance using the fuel cell system as a power source, thereby facilitating the design of the electric appliance. A fuel cell system(10) for supplying electric power to an electric appliance(20) comprises: a detecting unit(14) installed in the fuel cell system for detecting the turn-on operation of a switch(13), wherein the switch generates signals for driving the electric appliance and is installed in the electric appliance; and a fuel cell controller(12) for driving the fuel cell system when the output signal level of the detection unit is above a reference level, wherein the electric appliance is driven by the fuel cell system, which is normally driven and then is electrically connected to the electric appliance. |
