A baffle assembly is provided for a turbofan engine assembly 10, which includes a core gas turbine engine, a core cowl 22 which circumscribes the core gas turbine engine, a nacelle 24 positioned radially outward from the core cowl, and a fan nozzle duct 26 defined between the core cowl and the nacelle. The baffle assembly includes a baffle 102, and an actuator assembly 110 configured to vary the throat area of the fan nozzle duct by selectively repositioning the baffle 102. The baffle may be an inner core cowl baffle coupled to the core cowl 22. Alternatively, a translating outer core baffle may be positioned along a portion of the radially inner surface 25 of the nacelle 24. |
