Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display by a simple process. Also disclosed is a liquid crystal display. The method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display comprises a step for forming transparent electrodes (41, 42) on first and second substrates (11, 12); a step for applying an uncured sealing raw material; a step for dropping a first functional material; a step for dropping a second functional material; a step wherein the sealing raw materials (13a, 14a), the first functional material (32a) and the second functional material (31a) are sandwiched by the substrates in a certain reduced pressure atmosphere, thereby forming a sealed article wherein the first functional material and the second functional material are divided by the sealing raw materials and sealed between the first and second substrates; a step for exposing the sealed article to the atmospheric pressure; and a step for curing the sealing raw materials.
