PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair type massage machine capable of allowing upper treatment elements between the upper and lower treatment elements to be moved forward or allowing the lower treatment elements to be moved forward. SOLUTION: A massage unit 7 arranged in a backrest part 2 includes: a frame 10; a treatment mechanism 11 having the upper and lower treatment elements 8, 9; a guide member 15 arranged in the frame 10 and guiding the treatment mechanism 11; and a driving means 18 for moving the treatment mechanism 11 along the guide member 15. The guide member 15 moves the upper part 12a of the body part 12 in the treatment mechanism 11 to be changed into an inclined posture anterior to the lower part 12b or moves the lower part 12b of the body part 12 to be changed into an inclined posture anterior to the upper part 12a.
