A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to display clear images by processing a driving program required for various sizes of a display panel. A plasma display apparatus includes a panel(500), a logic unit(400), an image unit(300), and a driver(200). The panel having a first resolution includes first and second electrodes. The logic unit stores the information of the first resolution and outputs driving control signals corresponding to image data, a clock signal, and vertical and horizontal signals. The image unit stores driving programs for plural resolutions, receives the information of the first resolution through the communication with the logic unit, and provides the image data, clock signal, and vertical and horizontal signals to the logic unit by executing a resolution driving program corresponding to the first resolution. The driver generates driving waveforms supplied to the first and second electrodes according to the driving control signals.
