A hair iron 1 comprising first 3 and second 5 jaws at least one of which carries a heating element 7,9, the jaws being movable such that in use they can be moved from an open configuration in which hair can be introduced between them to a closed configuration with the hair lying between them. The hair iron may be powered by a battery unit 19, may have a safety cut-off to prevent it overheating, may be adapted so that the jaws can be locked together when not in use and the at least one heating element may comprise a thick film element 27. |
