POLYESTER POLYOL AND POLYURETHANE RESIN

A polyester polyol is prepared by ring-opening addition polymerization of a lactone with a compound represented by the following formula (I). [Chemical formula 1] (I) (In the formula, A1 and A2 respectively represent an alkylene group having 2 or more carbon atoms; A3 represents an alkylene group; X represents a cationic component; and n and m respectively represent an integer of not less than 1.) The polyester polyol has a highly hydrophilic group while exhibiting high solubility in solvents (especially in low boiling point organic solvents used for production of polyurethanes). Consequently, this polyester polyol enables to produce an aqueous polyurethane resin with a high degree of freedom in design.
