METHOD OF CONSTRUCTING A DIGITAL MODEL OF A ROUTE

The present invention relates to a method of constructing a digital model of a route characterized in that it comprises the steps consisting in acquiring a first set of data relating to the geometry of the route by means of a differential global positioning system (DGPS), acquiring a second set of data relating to the geometry of the route by means of an inertial platform combined with a global positioning system (GPS), indexing the values of said first and second data sets by determining their confidence level, deleting the values of said first and second data sets beyond a predefined confidence threshold so as to obtain a first set and a second set of corrected data, aggregating the data of said first and second corrected data sets to obtain the digital model of the route. Application to the fields of road mapping for navigation and route management, for creating localized and adaptive algorithms.
