The invention relates to a cell culture system, particularly for the prec linical testing of active ingredients, comprising a first and a second compa rtment. The active ingredients are in communication with each other via a se paration layer that is permeable for cellularly secretable substances betwee n the first and second compartments, wherein the first compartment comprises a syntopic culture with tissue cells and immune cells and the second compar tment has a culture with blood cells. The invention further relates to a cor responding method and to a kit and uses for the preclinical testing of activ e ingredients.
