The method involves producing ozone in an air flow by an ozonizer, and injecting the air flow loaded with the ozone in an exhaust line at conduits (5a, 5b) located downstream of a diesel engine and upstream of particle filters (4a, 4b). The flow of an exhaust gas is derived from a by-pass (2) of the exhaust line located upstream of the conduits, and the ozone injection is carried out in the particle filters to execute regeneration of the filters. An independent claim is also included for an exhaust line comprising a duct.
