<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxidation catalyst for purification of an exhaust gas which has an excellent catalyst activity at lower temperatures on particulates and high-boiling point hydrocarbons in the exhaust gas of internal engines. <P>SOLUTION: The oxidation catalyst for purification of an exhaust gas comprises a compound metal oxide of formula Y<SB>1-x</SB>Ag<SB>x</SB>MnO<SB>3</SB>(wherein x is 0.01-0.15). Alternatively, the compound metal oxide is of formula Y<SB>1-x</SB>Ag<SB>x</SB>Mn<SB>1-y</SB>A<SB>y</SB>O<SB>3</SB>(wherein A is a metal selected from Ti, Nb, Ta and Ru, and y is 0.005-0.2). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
