PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically grasp which of an automatic response mode and a manual response mode is the response mode of a communication terminal as a communication partner. SOLUTION: A communication terminal related to the present invention is a communication terminal which has a reception status and a transmission status and performs half-duplex communication with the communication terminal as the communication partner, and has the automatic response mode wherein the communication terminal enters the reception status without receiving a user's operation input when a request for half-duplex communication connection is received and the manual response mode wherein the communication terminal enters the reception status on receiving a user's operation input when the request for half-duplex communication connection is received. The communication terminal includes a response mode receiver which receives response mode information showing which of the automatic response mode and manual response mode is the response mode of the communication terminal as the communication partner, and a reporting unit which reports the user which of the automatic response mode and manual response mode is the response mode that the response mode information indicates.
