PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a dephosphorizing material which dispenses with the need of troublesome maintenance work, exhibits an excellent dephosphorizing effect stably over a long period of time and has excellent strength. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a dephosphorizing material comprises the steps of: mixing lightweight cellular concrete powder having a volume-average particle size of 5μm to 0.3 mm, a calcic raw material such as ordinary cement and water; granulating the obtained mixture; and subjecting to autoclave curing.
