PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner which secures a detection range of the odor concentration by inhibiting the saturation of an odor sensor. SOLUTION: An electric fan 6 is driven with the selection of the cleaning mode by a control means to collect dust with a dust collection part 5. With the selection of the odor detection mode by the control means, an electric fan motor 54 is driven to circulate the air to the dust collection part 5 through a circulation air path 13 and with the circulation of the air, when the odor concentration detected with the odor sensor 55 is above the lower limit threshold value, by the selection of an air path 58, the odor concentration is lowered relatively with a filter 68, thereby enabling the prevention of the saturation of the odor sensor 55. When the odor concentration detected with the odor sensor 55 is below the lower limit threshold of the sensor, the selection of a sub air pass 59 allows adaptation to the detection of the relatively smaller odor concentration, thereby securing the detection range of the odor concentration with the odor sensor 55.
