PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which does not commit a misjudgement of switch operations even when the voltage becomes low transitionally. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner has an electric blower 2 as a load, a judgement means (not in the figure) which judges the operation status of an operation means 4 which outputs signals of different voltages or currents, a control means (not in the figure) which switches the control status of the load according to the judgement by the judgement means, a voltage-detecting means (not in the figure) which detects the voltage of a first power source 21 which is the power source of the operation means 4, and a second power source 22 which supplies a standard voltage for setting a judgement value for judging the operation status of the operation means 4. The judgement means judges whether the control status of the electric blower 2 should be switched or not according to the voltage detected by the voltage-detecting means. Since the judgement means judges the control status after determining a judgement value to an input signal from the operation means 4 according to the voltage of the first power source 21, the output signal of the operation means 4 can be precisely judged even if the voltage of the commercial power source becomes low transitionally.
