<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which does not cause coloring in black display even if observed from an oblique direction, and which makes high display quality possible, and to provide a polarizing plate using the same and a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film has an optical anisotropic layer containing a liquid crystalline compound on a polymer film, and the polymer film contains a compound expressed by general formula (I), wherein, L<SB>1</SB>and L<SB>2</SB>independently denote a single bond or a bivalent linking group, respectively; A<SB>1</SB>and A<SB>2</SB>independently denote a group selected from a group consisting of -O-, -NR- (R denotes a hydrogen atom or a substituent), -S- and -CO-; R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>and R<SB>3</SB>independently denote a substituent, respectively; X denotes a group 14 to 16 nonmetallic atom (X may be linked with a hydrogen atom or a substituent); and n denotes an integer from 0 to 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
