A downhole sampling tool 15 includes a settling chamber 30 for obtaining a clean sample of fluid or to separate a multi fluid mixture, such as oil/water. The tool includes a sampling conduit 20 which has one or more apertures 25 in its sidewall for delivering the fluid to the settling chamber 30. The wellbore fluid in the sample chamber 30 settles by gravity and the separated fluid can be removed from the settling chamber 30 by use of conduits 35, 37 for determination of their physical properties. |
