The device has a thermography camera (12) attached to two excitation sources depending upon distance of the camera to a component (10). An angle between a main radiation direction of an excitation source (13) i.e. lightning-producing device, and a component surface (17) is adjustable so that area (11) of the component is illuminated by the excitation source. The position of the thermography camera and/or excitation source is adjustable with respect the area of the component by a robot (14).
