A secondary battery is provided to prevent the bending of an electrode tap and to lower a manufacturing cost by decreasing the length of an electrode tap. A secondary battery(1) comprises a can(20); an electrode assembly(22) which is accommodated in the can and is provided with an electrode tap(27') at the center; and a cap assembly(30) which seals the upper aperture of the can and contains an electrode terminal(32) connected with the electrode tap at the center, wherein the electrode tap of the electrode assembly and the electrode terminal installed at the cap assembly are joined by welding. Preferably the terminal part of the electrode tap is welded to the lower surface of the electrode terminal. |
