An end yarn-inserting apparatus is provided to hold an end yarn securely without missing the end yarn while the end yarn is cut and grasped by a cutting and grasping machine. An end yarn-inserting apparatus(1) is installed in a glove-knitting machine. The end yarn-inserting apparatus comprises a guide rail(23) and a machine sliding along the guide rail. A movable body(32) is installed at the machine such that the movable body is moved relatively to the machine. The movable body has an end yarn hook(33) and an end yarn presser(34). The end yarn hook is moved between a catching position, where the end yarn is caught, and a hook evacuation position, where the end yarn is evacuated from a knitting needle. The end presser is moved between a holding position, where the end presser holds the end yarn through synchronization with the end yarn hook at the catching position, and a presser evacuation position, where the end presser is evacuated from the knitting needle together with the end yarn hook. The machine has a stopper(48). The stopper supports the end yarn presser so that the stopper stops the end yarn presser from moving from the hook evacuation position toward the holding position, thereby making the end yarn presser on standby at a standby position where the end yarn presser is evacuated from a supplied yarn. The end yarn presser is separated from the stopper by moving the movable body relatively to the machine. Further, the movable body is installed at the guide rail in order to be capable of sliding displacement along the guide rail. |
