PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle height adjusting device of a cargo transporting vehicle which is adaptable to platforms of different heights and capable of efficiently loading/unloading a cargo. SOLUTION: The vehicle height adjusting device of the cargo transporting vehicle comprises an electromagnetic shock absorber 4 which connects a sprung mass corresponding member 1 and an unsprung mass corresponding member 2 with an air spring 3 interposed therebetween, and includes a motor for braking power generation to be rotated following the advancement/retraction of these members 1, 2 as a component, a sensor 5 for detecting the vertical displacement of a floor surface of a cargo bed when loading/unloading a cargo, and a controller 8 for supplying the power 26 to the motor for braking the power generation of the electromagnetic shock absorber 4 so that the floor surface of the cargo bed keeps a predetermined position based on information 6 of the sensor 5. The length of the electromagnetic shock absorber 4 is rapidly and steplessly adjusted so that the floor surface level position of the cargo bed becomes constant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
