PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight terminal capable of detecting directly temperature of a glass seal. SOLUTION: The glass seal 4 airtightly seals between an electrode 3 and a base material 2. A temperature detection element 41 having a lead wire 41a is embedded into the glass seal 4 excluding at least a part of the lead wire 41a. Thereby, temperature of the glass seal 4 can be detected directly and with a high response speed. When the temperature of the glass seal 4 exceeds a prescribed threshold due to overcurrent or the like flowing in the electrode 3, the current flowing in the electrode 3 is stopped, thereby melting of the glass seal 4 can be prevented certainly.
