PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for housing appliance with a high crack resistance together with a high compressive strength. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the material for housing appliance comprising a foam with 16.6-100 kg/m<SP>3</SP>of density and satisfying following formulas, A≥0.0113×C-0.09 (1), B≥0.9×C-3.5 (2). In the formulas, A is a compressive strength at the time of 25% set in static compression test of the foam (MPa), B is a half-number destructive height in falling ball impact test of the foam (cm), and C is the density of the foam (kg/m<SP>3</SP>).
