PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication device in which the finger is easily set at a haptically and visually right location. SOLUTION: In the biometric authentication device composed of a lower main body and a main body cover arranged on its upper part and converts a biometric image photographed with a camera into digital information to be used for biometric authentication, the main body cover is provided with a finger insertion part whose rear end is circular and which extends from the front to the rear at its upper part, the finger insertion part is constituted by including a root guide part arranged at the front part, a tip guide part 531 arranged at the rear part, a window part for photography arranged between the root guide part and the tip guide part, first guide light source parts 535a near the tip guide part and second guide light source parts 535b on both sides of the window part for photography, and the first/second guide light source parts are comprised of a plurality of light sources capable of emitting multicolored light and dynamic motions of the light along the longitudinal direction of the finger insertion part are made possible by independent light emission of the first guide light source part and light emission in corporation with the first/second guide light parts.
