PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front part structure for an engine avoiding the expansion of a width of an engine front part, surely inhibiting swing of chain, and having advantage in weight reduction of the engine. SOLUTION: A cooling water intake passage 17 for taking cooling water out to an outside from a water jacket in a cylinder head 3, extends to a side of a cylinder head 3 with bypassing a boss part 13B for a tension bolt positioned in an engine front end side to a cylinder head front wall 3a side from the water jacket. A bent part 3c bent toward an outside of the engine at a position corresponding to the boss part 13B for an engine front end side tension bolt to form the cooling water intake passage bypassing a front wall 3a of the cylinder head 3 is formed on the front wall 3a of the cylinder head 3. A bolt boss part 3d for joining a chain guide regulating the swing of the chain transmitting power of a crankshaft to a camshaft is formed on the bent parts 3c. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
