There is provided an optical imaging device 40 for splitting an initial image into at least two images with different optical characteristics, wherein the device comprises a beam splitter 32 to create first and second optical pathways 33, 34 respectively incident on first and second reflective means 41', 41, and a light converging element 50 or a light diverging element 51 is interposed in one of the first and second optical pathways in a position such that it changes the focus while at the same time compensating for the magnification changes in that optical pathway. The device may have a further beam splitter 47 to create a third optical pathway. |
