<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a reinforced electrolyte membrane having a thin thickness and a higher strength in a simple process and at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a reinforced electrolyte membrane in which an electrolyte resin (or a precursor) is immersed in a porous reinforcing membrane 1, a laminate 4 made of a lamination of electrolyte resin membranes 3, 3, on a tentered porous reinforcing membrane is formed and heated to obtain a membrane-like body 10 in which the electrolyte resin 3 is immersed in the porous reinforcing membrane 1. The membrane-like body 10 is again tentered by a tenter type tentering machine or the like to obtain a tentered membrane-like body 20 which is desirably thinned and highly strengthened. When an electrolyte resin precursor is used, a hydrolysis treatment is conducted on the tentered membrane-like body 20 and an ion conductivity is given to obtain a reinforced electrolyte membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
