PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve mobile communication that dispenses with cell design (transmission power and an area are small), can vary bands speedily, and corresponds to a wide band/band variable/multiple users. SOLUTION: A radio communication system uses a shared control channel that can be used at a prescribed period for each base station and a plurality of traffic channels that can be assigned to each radio communication terminal adaptively for communication. The radio communication terminal has a channel request means for requesting the assignment of an individual control channel to a base station via the shared control channel, and a communication control means for connecting the individual control channel assigned from the base station by radio to communicate control information. The base station has a channel assignment means for assigning one of the traffic channels as the individual control channel exclusive for the radio communication terminal when an assignment request of the individual control channel is received.
