There is provided a camera, a lens unit, a camera body and a photographed image processing method that allow a good image to be readily obtained even by using the lens unit having new lens characteristics or that requires to use a new image processing algorism. The camera has the camera body, the lens unit having a photographing optical system for forming an image of an object, image pickup means for picking up the image of the object to convert it into electrical image information and image processing means for processing the image information corresponding to the lens characteristics of the lens unit.
