VALERIAN EXTRACT PREPARATION

Disclosed is a method for producing a valerian extract preparation. Said method comprises the following steps: a) radix valerianae officinalis is extracted using alcoholic-aqueous extracting agents to obtain a raw extract, the alcohol concentration ranging between 10 and 50 percent by volume; b) at least some of the alcoholic moiety is removed from the raw extract to obtain a thick extract; c) the thick extract is contacted with a hydrophobic adsorbent; d) the hydrophobic adsorbent is separated to obtain a purified extract; e) the purified extract is converted into a valerian extract preparation with the help of standard adjuvants.
