<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asymmetric reduction catalyst which is industrially useful, with regard to the asymmetric reduction catalyst, its solution and a manufacturing method of optically active alcohols using this catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: This asymmetric reduction catalyst comprises a lactam alcohol derivative, a p-halogenated phenol and boranes shown by formula (1) or formula (2) (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each independently a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or an ethyl group, 3 to 10C straight-chain, branched or annular alkyl group, methoxy group or ethoxy group, 3 to 10C straight-chain, branched or annular alkoxy group, phenyl group, substituted phenyl group, trifluoromethyl group or halogen atom; "m" and "n" are each independently an integer of 0 to 5). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
