PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply formed, lightweight, and functional buckling restricting brace, a proof stress frame using the buckling restricting frame as a component, and a method of manufacturing the buckling restricting brace. SOLUTION: This buckling restricting brace comprises a long plate-like brace core supporting an axial force as structural member and an outer auxiliary rigid member formed in a cylindrical shape having the generally same length as the brace core, inserted onto the brace core, and formed using a metal. The outer auxiliary rigid member comprises a deformed part deformed inward by the pressurizing force from the outside toward the brace core. The buckling of the brace core caused when the outer auxiliary rigid member is pressed against the brace core is suppressed by the deformed part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
