<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress contrast decrease in a liquid crystal device and an electronic apparatus at low temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device includes a display unit which includes pixels at respective intersections of a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of data lines and has switching elements connecting the pixels and data lines, a scanning line driving circuit which supplies a scanning signal for setting a selection period wherein the pixels are written to the scanning lines, a data line driving circuit which supplies a data signal varying in pulse width with a grayscale to the data lines when the scanning signal is supplied to the scanning lines, a temperature sensor which detects ambient temperature of the display unit, and a control means for controlling the selection period within a predetermined temperature range and also controlling the pulse width of the data signal according to the ambient temperature detection result of the temperature sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
